Arlene Ledford Parsons

Hickory - Arlene Ledford Parsons, 72, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Arlene was born March 17, 1942 in Catawba Co. to the late Elmer Grady Ledford and wife Sarah Ellen Smith Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Parsons. Also brothers, Galen Ledford, and James “Bud” Ledford. Arlene was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she was a member of women’s organizations, serving with the hospitality committee, organized the food closet, and always helped with V.B.S. Arlene was the “Glue” that held it all together! Surviving are her sons, Patrick Parsons and wife, Angela, and Christopher Parsons. Grandchildren, Blake Parsons, Victoria Cook, Austin Cook, and Catherine Cook. Also surviving, are brothers Harold Ledford and Grady Ledford, Sisters, Charlotte Cook, Betty Jo Ledford, Eula Hefner, Maxine Dickinson ,Brenda Sluder, and Rita Lutz all of Hickory. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:45 PM at Lakeview Baptist Church.

The Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 15 at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Grant and Rev. Jerry Hurley officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
