Barbara Anne Hanes

Barbara (Anne) Deal Hanes, age 92 of Lincolnton, passed away at home on Sunday, May 19, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 21, 1932, to the late Thomas Pinkney Deal, Sr. and Lillie Mullinax Deal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Scott Bryson and one brother Thomas Pinkney Deal, Jr.

Barbara Anne is survived by her daughter, Susan Bryson Harkey of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) Harkey, MeKenzie Hollar, Madison Harkey (future husband Austin Cathey); five great-grandchildren, Bailey Hollar, Paisley Hollar, Brentley Hollar, Theo Harkey, Liam Harkey; niece, Sherry Deal Wagoner; special friends, Daniel Richard, Treylen Bost.

Before retiring, Barbara Anne worked in textiles at Regency Home Fashions in Conover.

The family would like to thank Via Health Partners for their support and loving care of Barbara Anne during her time of need.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Catawba Funeral Home.
