Betty (Mingus) Clay

Born on December 3, 1927 in Catawba County to the late Loy Mingus and Carrie Lail.

Betty was a faithful Christian and a long time active member of Sardis Lutheran Church. She will be dearly missed by so many family and friends.

The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Trinity Ridge and Carolina Caring for their love and care for her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Eugene H Clay and a granddaughter Tonia Clay.

She is survived by two sons: Dennis Clay and Robert Clay and wife June; grandchildren: Teresa (Ryan) Brakemeyer, Paul Clay, Jonathan Clay (Carrie Milsaps), and Jennifer Clay; great grandchildren: Brandon Elrod, Alex Brakemeyer, Lee Brakemeyer, Ava Clay, Savannah Clay, Abbey Walker, and Lucas Walker; great great grandchildren: Jordan Elrod, and a brother: Vance (Ruth) Holland.

There will be a private funeral for the family with Reverend Adrienne Martin officiating with burial to follow at Sardis Lutheran Church.
