HICKORY – Betty Ann Thomas Moran ( Betty Boop), 78 of Hickory passed away peacefully at Trinity Ridge nursing home surrounded by family.
Betty was born in Hickory, NC on November 30, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Charles Thomas and Mae Esther Watson Thomas. Betty retired from Gulf State paper of Conover. She enjoyed her dog Cody, music and loved to dance and was always life of the party.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Ann Young and sister, Judy Thomas Sheets.
Those left behind to keep Betty’s memory alive include; sons, James Young, Timothy Moran; daughter, Kimberly Moran; sisters, Elaine Thomas, Kay Clark, Margaret Cox, Martha Thomas; 5 grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Derick Lingerfelt officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 PM -1 PM.

Family would like to say thank you and let the staff of Trinity Ridge in Mt. View and Carolina Caring on how much they appreciate the quality of care they gave to Betty. They were there when the family couldn’t be. Each and every staff member holds a special place in (Bossy Betty’s) heart.
