Mr. Billy Bobby Brittain

Billy was born October 6, 1934 in Burke Co. to the late Freddie Ervin and Georgia Settlemyre Brittain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Maudie Reep and Frances Brittain; 4 brothers, Preston Brittain, Julius Brittain, Enos Brittain and Alvin Brittain.

He was a member of Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church, retired from Southern Bell Phone Co. and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Minnie Lou Lail Brittain, of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter, Sherry Lou Sebring, of Myrtle Beach, SC; son-in-law, James Sebring, of Fayetteville; grandson, Ethan Sebring, of Myrtle Beach, SC and a brother, Verlie Brittain, of Valdese.

Services will be Friday, November 2, at 3:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Sizemore and Rev. Patrick Mourglea officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park with graveside military honors conducted by American Legion Post #48.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:45 – 2:45 PM at Hickory Funeral Home.
