

Billy E. Hefner Jr., 71 of Granite Falls, North Carolina. Passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, following a long and courageous battle with severe heart disease and COPD.
Born on March 14, 1955, Billy was the son of the late Billy E. Hefner Sr. and Hallie Hefner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Hefner and his brother, Stanley Hefner.
He is survived by his son, Billy “Trey” Hefner III and wife, Kelly; his sister, Beverly Kerley and husband, Danny; his cherished grandchildren, Makayla Hefner, Joshua Hefner, Thomas “Dalton” Isgett, and Lillian “Lilly” Isgett; his nephew and niece, Michael Kerley and wife, Ellie, Tracy Brown and husband, Chris, Jeffery Gaddy and wife Crystal, and Christopher Gaddy and wife Alesha; numerous great-nephews and great nieces; and his beloved aunts and uncles, Jerry Hefner and wife, Barbara, Jane Bowman, Brenda Bowman, Judy Hefner, Catherine Hefner, Lynda Kirby, Sarah Kirby and Ann Kirby.
Billy was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple things in life. He deeply loved his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. He also held a special place in his heart for his aunts and uncles. Always grateful for the time he was able to spend with them, especially in later years.
Known for his gift of gab, Billy could sit for hours talking about anything, bringing laughter and comfort to those around him. His stories, humor, and unmistakable presence made him a true friend to many. He had a way of making people feel at ease and his friendships were genuine and lasting.
Billy will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love for family and his ability to turn even the most ordinary moments into something memorable. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held on May 16, 2026, at Ebenezer Methodist Church 4948 Burns Road., Granite Falls, NC 28630. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. with the service immediately following.
Graveside services will be held privately at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Methodist Men’s Group.
