Billy Randall Shew

Billy Randall Shew, 70, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. Born September 14, 1954, in Caldwell County, he was the son of Billy Joe Shew of Lenoir and the late Mary Magdalene Pendergrass Shew.

He was previously employed in the construction business.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Shew; daughter, Ashley Price; and sister, Kathy Kidd.

Billy is survived by his wife, Deborah Smith Shew; daughters, Kimberly Clark (Dennis) and Shonda Clark (Matt); step-son, Charles Propst; brother, Larry Shew (Sharon); sister, Belinda Chatham (Tommy); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with burial to follow in Catawba Memorial Park. Mr Ray Fleming will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
