

Born in Burke County Jan. 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Vassie Tallent Wellman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Allen Virgil Shull; brothers, Clyde Wellman and wife, Louise, Santas Wellman and wife, Nannie Gert, Cecil Wellman and wife, Helen, Phifer Wellman and wife, Vergie; sister, Ilene Brittain and husband, Boyd; and son-in-law, Terry Lail.
She was a long-time member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was very active in the life of the church. She was honored with the Laity Award for 50 years of service as Organist, sharing her talents with others from children to adults in numerous musical ways - worship, special musical programs, weddings and funerals. Bonnie was also a leader in the United Methodist Women at the local and district levels. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Teresa Lail, Wanda Robinson and husband, Terry; granddaughter, Stephanie Lail McDaniel and husband, Donald; grandson, Andrew Lail and wife, Melissa; great-grandsons, Sawyer McDaniel, Jackson Lail and Lucas Lail all of Vale; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hickory Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m., at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Allen Boliek and Olin Isenhour officiating. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
