Brenda Mae (Shuford) Allred

Mrs. Brenda Mae (Shuford) Allred, daughter of the late Claude Shuford and Ruth (Ramsuer) Shuford, was born April 14, 1946, in Iredell County, North Carolina. She departed this life on June 20, 2026, in Hickory, NC.

Brenda was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She was passionate about advocating for and helping others, often remarking, "Everybody is somebody's child, and you don't mistreat nobody's child."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James Odell Allred Sr., daughter, Twanna Carol Allred and seven siblings; Billie Wayne Shuford, Charlie Ramsuer, Dana Imes, Michael Ramseur, Melvin Shuford, Gail Shuford and Tonya Shuford.

Left to cherish her loving memories are her son, James Odell Allred Jr. of Hickory, NC and daughter, Lashawnda Allred of Greenville, NC; eight grandchildren; Niya Allred, Aaron Rhinehardt, Keondra Allred, Markese Blackburn, Antaisha Allred, Camarion Allred, Christian Locke and Morgan Locke; five great grandsons and six great granddaughters; one brother, Charles (Marlene) Shuford of Statesville, NC; a special niece, Regina Haynes of Claremont, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

A gathering of friends will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
