HILDEBRAN – Brenda Franklin Childers, 80 of Hildebran went home to be with her Lord on June 24, 2026, at Amorem in Valdese.
Born on July 3, 1945, in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Eulan and Bessie Hildebran Franklin. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, cooking and family gatherings. Brenda loved Ford Mustangs and owned many throughout her life. She was an animal lover rescuing and loving many dogs during her life. Brenda was a financial whiz. She was very sentimental and a collector of many things: pictures, greeting cards, bottles and Coke Cola memorabilia. Brenda loved classic country, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. She loved visiting the beach, the mountains and many trips to Dairy Queen. Brenda was an amazing woman who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn Alan Franklin (Peanut) and Bobby Dean Franklin.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Stanley Dean Childers; sons, Michael Childers and wife Peggy, Bryan Childers and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Aidyn Childers, Hunter Johnson and wife Aliece, Kiana Bailey and husband Zach, Kelli Aikala; sister, Monica Arney; nephew, Jacob Arney and wife Rebecca, niece, Lauren Arney and fiancé Kendall Petty and numerous other family members. Her legacy will continue through her family for many generations to come.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Debbie Frye officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM – 2 PM at the funeral home.
The burial will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 2 PM at Catawba Memorial Park.
