Brenda Joan Sheets

Hickory – Brenda Joan Russell Sheets, 78 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 16th, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on May 18th, 1946 in Carter County, TN, Brenda was the daughter of the late Ephraim and Retta Honeycutt Russell. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was proud of all her children and she always said that raising them was the best time of her life. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. She also loved to write and always had a pen and paper to jot down her thoughts. She treasured her Bible and took every opportunity to witness about Jesus. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Walter Sheets; granddaughter, Aaron Smith. Brothers, Jay, Jimmy, Delmar, Lewis, and Richard Russell. Sisters, Janet, Arlene Honeycutt, and Sue Whitehead.

Those left to cherish her memory include: 2 daughters, Lisa Cannon (Richard) of Belmont and Amy Sheets of Hickory; 2 sons, Ben Sheets Jr. (Krissy) of Connelly Springs, and Billy Sheets (Melissa) of Hickory; 3 grandsons, Andrew, Casey and Brandon; 3 sisters, Marie, Frankie and Sandra, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Evelyn and Jack Lyons.

A Graveside Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park on Friday, June 21st, 2024 at 10:00 am with Pastor Thomas Herman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Carolina Caring of Newton in Brenda’s name.
