She was born on September 28, 1946, to the late Clyde C. Teague and Willie King Teague in Catawba County. Brenda was a 14-year Ovarian Cancer Survivor. She enjoyed visiting friends and family and having her fancy coffee. Brenda was a devoted Christian, with a witty sense of humor. She dearly loved her family.
Brenda was a devoted wife of 46 years. She was a proud, loving mother to her four children. The role that she was truly exceptional at was by far, as “Mamaw”. She possessed the amazing ability of making each grandchild feel uniquely important whether it be attending sporting events, band concerts, awards ceremonies to her lunch dates. Her trust in the Lord never faltered and she walked the path the Lord had laid before her knowing he was by her side through it all. She showed us by example that the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains.
Along with her parents, her husband, James Ray Shelton; son-in-law, Michael Moritz; grandson-in-law, Caleb Fish; and sister-in-law, Maybelle Buchanan preceded her in death.
Survivors include her twin daughters, Deborah Lee S. Moritz of Conover, Barbara Lee S. Weaver (Brock) of Valdese; sons, Steven Ray Shelton (Dawn) of Hildebran, Bryan Ray Shelton (Monica) of Hildebran; grandchildren, Ashley Carpenter (Bradley) of Granite Falls, Kayla Hughey (Kendall) of Hildebran, Kaitlin Fish of Canton, Josie Shelton (fiancé Tanner Ingle) of Hildebran, Erin Moritz of Conover, Matthew Shelton (Meredith) of Granite Falls, Alex Weaver (Logan) of Valdese, Kyle Moritz (fiancée McKenzie Becker) of Taylorsville; great grandchildren, Bristol, Parker, Reece, Lainey, Tatum; twin brothers, Dwight Teague of Hickory, Doug Teague (Charlotte) of Shelby; sister-in-law, Joyce Huffman (Jerry) of Granite Falls; and fur baby, Allie Lee.
