Bryan Pierce Hudson

Bryan served in the US Army and was stationed in White Sands, New Mexico and then in Stuttgart, Germany, where he guarded atomic bombs. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Providence Baptist Church, Hickory, NC. He worked at Hickman Hardware and then he opened his own hardware business, Bryan P. Hudson Sales Co. Later he started his own appliance business, Alexander Appliance, in Hickory, NC.

Bryan was always a happy, outgoing man who never met a stranger. It gave him great pleasure in telling stories and engaging with others. He had many friends that loved him. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time taking care of his many irises, daylilies and hostas. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who showered us with love. His three grandsons were the light of his life, and they will cherish every moment they spent with him, especially the last two years in Greensboro.

Bryan is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Hudson Russell and husband, Bob, of Greensboro, a son, Todd Hudson of Hickory, his three grandsons, Bryce, Robert and Matthew Russell of Greensboro, NC, and one sister, Jean Hudson Bingham, and husband, Gettys, of Advance, NC, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his former wife and friend, Jolene Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his loving memory to Providence Baptist Church, 7614 Providence Church Rd, Hickory, NC 28602.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Providence Baptist Church, Hickory, with Pastor Christopher Dale officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 544.
