Buddy Raymond Burcham

Hickory-Buddy Raymond Burcham, 78, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his home.He was born on December 14, 1939 in Surry County to the late Pleasant Raymond Burcham and Fannie Louise McBride Burcham. Buddy was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Hickory High School and Lenoir Rhyne University. Buddy loved animals, especially his birds, who he loved to watch and always made sure they were fed in his yard. Buddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Varnadore, and brothers, Bill Burcham and Benny Burcham. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda R. Burcham of the home; daughters, Angel Crump and husband Grady of Connelly Springs, Melissa Farr and husband Michael of Hudson, Beverly Phillips, Brinna Burcham, Barbie Hensly; son, Bradley Burcham; grandchildren, Danielle Cornette, Dale Farr, and Michael W. Farr and wife Michelle; great-granddaughter, Khloe Cornette; sister, Betty Hildreth, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2: 00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the church. Pastor Dale Faulkenbury and Associate Pastor Paul Deal will be officiating the services. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church, 3320 9th Ave. Dr. NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
