She was born on October 22, 1942 to the late Paul Sheppard and Lois Kiziah Sheppard in Catawba County.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Sheppard.
Survivors include her son, Robert Sanderson of the Hickory; daughters, Rebecca Sanderson of Boonville, Sharon Sanderson of Hickory; grandchildren, Amanda Sanderson Brown, Billy Teague, Gwen Hoyle, David VanCour and wife Katie; and some great grandchildren.
Carrie will lie in state on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Pisgah Cemetery. Rev. Earnest Richards will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
