Born in Cuyahoga County in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward Vilk and Mary Duralia Vilk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward “Uncle Ted” Vilk; sisters, Jeannie Mullis, Jo-Ann Valarinos, Mary-Ann Eiden, Barbara Dupont.
Those left to cherish her memory are: sons, Ed Thompson and wife Barbara of Hickory, Vince Thompson and wife Kelly; grandchildren, Edward Thompson Jr. and wife Tiffany of Norfolk Virginia, Cynthia Thompson of Brookfield Ohio, Cody Thompson and wife Amanda of Granite Falls, Bo Thompson of Thomaston, Georgia, Victoria Thompson of Memphis Tennessee; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Catherine was involved with food service in many capacities including running her own restaurant.
