Celia Yvonne Travis

Celia Yvonne Clanton Travis, 81, of Hickory, NC, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Trinity Village Hickory, NC. Born on September 9, 1936 in Gaston, NC, she was the daughter of the late Blair Jenkins Clanton and Ada Lee Armstrong. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jenkins Clanton; sisters, Lillian Webb, Betty Propst, Lunette Henson and Julia Clanton. Mrs. Travis is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carlos Travis; son, Carlos Travis II. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Catawba Memorial Park with Pastor Troy Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Annelle Pegg Scholarship of Lakeview Baptist Church at 4080 N Center St. Hickory, NC 28601. Condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com.
