Mrs. Christeen M. Lane

HICKORY- Christeen M. Lane, 77, went home to be with her Lord and savior on September 1, 2015. Born May 13, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Rev. Grady and Geneva McCurry. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and “Mamaw Lane”. She was a very avid reader and loved to travel especially to amusement parks. Hobbies included yard sales, going to her senior center and was a loyal member to her church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brother, Garland McCurry. Survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles D. Lane; three sons, Charles M. Lane and wife Betty, Thomas D. Lane and wife Donna, and Robert (Bobby) E. and wife Sonal; grandchildren, Anthony Lane, Angela (Stephen) Silver, Greg Lane, Sophia Lane, and Kaden Lane; great-grandchildren, Timmy and Darrell Lane, Makayla and Gracie Silver, Daisy and Dalton Lane; and sister, Betty Keller. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 12 pm at Catawba Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Arndt and Pastor John Riley officiating. Entombment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Catawba Funeral Home.
