OBITUARY

Christopher "Chris" Craig Rector

November 14, 1970July 11, 2019

Christopher “Chris” Craig Rector, age 48, passed away unexpectedly following a brief illness on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC. Born November 14, 1970 in Alleghany County, NC, he was the son of Harry Lee Rector of Taylorsville, NC, and the late Beverly Ann Carico Rector.

Chris was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Mountain Infantry Division in Korea from 1989-1994. He was currently working as a Team Leader in the IT department of Transportation Insight in Hickory, NC. Chris enjoyed deer hunting, playing golf, and listening to music, especially heavy metal and rock-n-roll.

Survivors include his daughter, Morgan Alexis Rector of Stony Point, NC; father, Harry Lee Rector of Taylorsville, NC; and brother, Curtis Clifford Rector of Conover, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory, NC, with Rev. Mark Carico officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.

I can't believe Chris is gone so early. He was a dear sweet friend of mine throughout my time at St. Stephen's High School. And even though I haven't seen him since then he did make an impact on my life during that time. I wish my condolences to his family and prayers to help you through your loss.
