

Born August 14, 1936 in Indiana, he was the son of the late Robert Nalley and Iona Nalley.
Mr. Nalley was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served in the Korean War. Later in his life he was a member of the Conover Masonic Lodge. In his younger years, Mr. Nalley enjoyed deer hunting and later in life, listening to gospel music as he hummed and sang along.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Lee Nalley; his brother, Sam Nalley; and his sister, Vivian Banks.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Joyce Stilwell Nalley; daughter, Kimberly N. Hendricks and husband, Danny, of Danville, IN; brother, Eddie Dean Nalley and wife, Joyce, of Franklin IN; sisters, Opal Duke and husband, Marvin, of Castle Rock, CO, Wilma Purdy, of Franklin, IN, Ruth Rairdon, of Shelbyville, IN and his two very special dogs, Sugar and JT.
A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Reverend Ben Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Catawba County Humane Society, P O Box 63, Hickory, NC 28603.
