HICKORY- On Monday, June 17, 2019, Clyde Thomas Bradshaw, loving husband and proud father, went to his eternal rest after a brief stay at Carolina Caring Hospice House. He was 88 years old. Clyde was born on April 5, 1931, in Burke County, North Carolina, to Patterson Bradshaw and Minnie Yancy. He had one sister, Cora Lee Bradshaw Sweeney. He was drafted into the Army at age 18, and spent time as a cook in Germany during the Korean Conflict. On April 11, 1959 he married Mary Jane Duncan Bradshaw. They had one daughter, Donna Bradshaw Bowman. Clyde had a passion for the outdoors. He loved to garden, mow grass, and watch the ebb and flow of life from his front porch. He was known as the candy man with a big sense of humor. Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Patterson; his mother, Minnie; his sister, Cora Lee, and several brother and sister-in-laws. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane and daughter, Donna; son-in-law, Scott Bowman; brother-in-laws, Rex Duncan, Kimo Mullinax, Melvin Isenhour, and David Whitener; sister-in-laws, Frances Duncan, Christine Mullinax, Sandra Isenhour, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Highway 127 North at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Jesse Lott officiating. Receiving for family will be at 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. before the service. Arrangements are with Hickory Funeral Home.
