Clyde Ray Lail

He was born in Catawba County on May 24, 1932. He was the son of the late Robert McRee and Charlotte Houck Eckard Lail.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia Bolick Lail, and 2 brothers Harold Lail and Glenn Lail.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. He was very active in the development and building of Luther Rock, starting from camp sites to large stone lodge which housed 30 girls and 30 boys. Clyde was retired brick mason after 30 years; after retirement he worked in maintenance at Lexington Furniture, and worked at Galaxy Foods.

He is survived by his sons Tony Michael Lail and wife Angela of Charlotte and Louis Duran Lail and wife Kathy of Taylorsville; granddaughters Erin Whitehead and husband Jason of Holly Springs, Megan Putnam and husband Robbie of High Point, Kristen Robillard and husband Dan of Apex; and Calyn Ford and husband Ben of Advance; grandsons Michael Lail and wife Connie of Indian Trail, and Matthew Lail and wife Colleen of Jacksonville, NC; 13 great grandchildren and brother Earl Lail of Hickory.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00pm at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow.
