Cora Johnson Greene, 86 of Newton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at Graceview Homes Assisted Living surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on August 12th, 1939, in Logan County, West Virginia, Cora was the daughter of the late Andrew and Emma Rowe Johnson. Cora loved to bake and give homemade Chex Mix to her friends and family at Christmas. She was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wiley Greene; her son, Joey Edward Greene; her daughter, Joyce Ann Greene and an infant daughter; her 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Nora Willis; a special niece, Phyllis Nelson; her nephew, Johnny Greene and wife Peggy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
Cora will lie in state from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm for viewing at Catawba Funeral Home.
