Cornelius Emanuel Covington, 49, of Hickory transitioned Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born September 3, 1973 in Catawba County, he was the son of Mary Ann Wilfong Covington and the late Emanuel Ted Covington, Sr. A member of Fresh Oil Ministries in Hickory, he previously served in The US Army and was employed in purchasing and planning for Corning Cable.
In addition to his mother Mary, Cornelius is survived by his wife of 25 years, Catherine Forney Covington; son, Isaiah Covington; and brother, Emanuel Ted Covington, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Fresh Oil Ministries with Pastors Tammy Pettry and David Pettry officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm prior to the service.
