Damaris Rich Propst

Damaris was born September 18, 1934 in Madison Co. to the late Hubert and Jeane Hamlin Rich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Leroy Propst, Sr., a daughter, Dianne Propst and a brother, J. C. Rich.

She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and retired as secretary for Steve Austin Attorney.

Surviving are her sons; Arthur “Leroy” Propst, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Hickory and Nelson Propst of Hickory; her daughters, Valerie Reese and husband, Monte of Mars Hills, NC and Barbara “Bobbie” Propst of the home; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her sister, Doris Fisher of Mars Hill, NC; her brother, Ronald Rich and wife, Libby of Mars Hill, NC. and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Rich of Weaverville, NC.

Services will be Friday, May 11, 2012, at 3:00 PM at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve McLain officiating.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:45 until 2:45 PM at the church.
