Danny Ray Eckard

CONOVER---Danny Ray Eckard, 73 passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was born April 21, 1943 in Catawba County to the late Cloyd and Mattie Lail Eckard. Danny served 13 months in Sole Korea as a Sergeant in the Army; early in his career he was owner of DJ’s Janitorial Service & Lawn Care, then he retired from CommScope. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeffery Isenhour Eckard of the home; sisters Joyce Lethcoe and husband John of Hudson and Doris Eckard of Maiden; brothers Eddie Eckard and wife Janice of Hickory and Carl Eckard of Morganton; sister-in-law Peggy McClure and husband Harry of Hickory; brother-in-law Troy Isenhour and wife Kay of Conover and numerous nieces and nephews. A Private memorial service will be held at Hickory Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Catawba Valley Medical Center for the care they gave Danny Ray Eckard.
