David Alan Panzer, 73, died on October 1st, 2023. David will be dearly remembered by his loving wife of 32 years Pamela McCurry Panzer; his children Tara (Michael) Cushing, Adam (Regina) Panzer, Alexis (Kyle) Panzer, and Taylor Panzer; his 5 grandchildren; his brother William Panzer; and his beloved dog and best buddy Teddy.
David was born in Bronx, New York on December 20th, 1949 to the late Irving and Edith Panzer and grew up in Yonkers, New York. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Jonathan Panzer.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School, David attended Binghamton University and New York University School of Dentistry. He then served as a captain in the Air Force at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas. David spent 44 years as a dentist in both Yonkers, New York and Morganton, North Carolina, where he lovingly cared for his patients. In 1991, he married Pamela, and they moved to Hickory, North Carolina in 2003.
He loved skiing, golfing, and watching the Yankees beat the Red Sox. He loved beach vacations, where he would scuba dive and relax with a cold rum punch. David was deeply intelligent; he loved watching Jeopardy each night and losing to Pam in Scrabble. He will be remembered for his love for his family, devotion to his patients, and sharp sense of humor.
His family would like to thank their loving friends and neighbors for all the ongoing help and support they have provided over the years.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of life on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 at 11:00am at Drum Funeral Home, 940 29th Ave NE, Hickory.
