Deborah Lynn Acree

Deborah Lynn Acree, of Conover, departed this life on October 18, 2021 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC.  She was 67 years old.  Deb was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and co-worker.  She will be remembered by those who worked with her and cherished her friendship at  her place of employment, Catawba Valley Community College, where she diligently excelled as an Administrative Assistant.  Her dedication, kindness, and generosity will not be easily forgotten.  She was an excellent pianist and vocalist who frequently displayed her talents at church functions and family gatherings.  She enjoyed the company of her cats, Bruce and Diego, and an engaging episode of Star Trek better than most!  She was also a wonderful mother, sister and friend, who was always willing to listen and be supportive when we all needed her most.  There can never be a replacement for her generous heart and enduring personality.  She will be sorely missed.  Deborah is predeceased by her parents earlier this year, Gene and Lenora Burry, as well as her husband Stephen Acree just one month ago.  Deborah is survived by her children, Nichole Foreman of Hartland, Wisconsin, and Michael Curtis of Erie, Pennsylvania.  She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Maryanne, Rebecca, and Autum; three sisters, Carol Ulissi, Sarah Ivison, and Cheryl De Jesus; and one brother, Timothy Burry.  Given the simplicity that was always preferred by both Stephen and Deb, a small, combined graveside service of close family and friends will take place at Catawba Memorial Park (3060 Highway 70 SE, Hickory, NC 28603) at 10AM on October 30th.
