Deborah Ann Keener

Deborah Ann Lail Keener, age 63, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Duke Medical Center in Durham. Born September 28, 1952 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Hazel Mae Parker Lail Houser and the late Ambrose Carlos Lail. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Margaret Elaine Lail, Frances Shoup; half-brother, Anthony Lail; and her special uncle and aunt, O.C. and Ruby Blanton, who raised her. She was operating room technician at Frye Regional medical Center for approximately 25 years. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bobby Flint Keener of the home; sons, Matthew Keener of the home, Bobby Flint Keener, Jr. and wife, Cristina of Richmond, VA; daughters, Melanie Brunner and husband, Andrew of Conover, NC, Amy Travis and husband, William Young of Greensboro, NC, Janice Andrukaitis of Papillion, NE; 11 grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Emery; brother, Ronnie Lail and wife, Patricia; half-brothers, Jim Houser and wife, Kim, Gerald Houser and wife, Jeannie, all of Lawndale, NC, Larry Houser and wife, Christy of Shelby, NC; and her stepfather, Beauford (Jack) Houser. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with Rev. Earnest Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Hickory Funeral Home.
