Della Ellen Linebarger

Vale – Della Ellen Linebarger, 88 of Vale, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Somerset Court of Cherryville, NC.

Born on February 5, 1934 in Charlotte, Arkansas, Della was the daughter of the late Walter and Della Livonia Gilbert. Della’s passions were gardening, sewing, fishing, golfing and wood working. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilson Fred Linebarger and 2 brothers, Walter Gilbert and Phillip Gilbert.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Dan) Walker of Vale, NC; a son, Michael Linebarger of Lancaster, OH; 2 sisters, Lillian (Jim) Williamson of Bald Knob, AR and Carolyn Ussery of Tuckerman, AR; 2 grandchildren, Megan (Jared) Primmer and Jerry Hurt of North Carolina; 3 great grandchildren, Trista, Connor and Makayla Primmer as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in Della’s name.
