HICKORY – Doris Martin Champion, 83 of Hickory went home to be with her Heavenly Father on June 17, 2019.
Born on March 19, 1936 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew and Dessie Chapman Martin. Doris was a member of Sandy Ridge Wesleyan Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Douglas Champion, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.
Survivors include her children, Wade Champion and wife Connie, Katina Peck; grandchildren, Daniel Champion, Douglas Peck, Katie Peck; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Gavin Champion, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 21st 2019 at 3 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastors Scott Howard and Charles Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 PM-3 PM at the funeral home.
