Doris Townsend Cole

Doris Townsend Cole, 91 of Connelly Springs, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at Trinity Ridge Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 8th, 1935, in Burke County, NC, Doris was the daughter of the late Lewis and Hettie Rogers Townsend.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson Cole; her son, Johnny “Wyatt” Cole; her brother, Lewis Townsend, Jr. and her sister, Shirley Townsend Bryant.

Those left to cherish her memory include her 2 sons, Eric Cole and wife, Amy and Brett Cole and wife, Renee; her sister, Linda Townsend Jhant; her 5 grandchildren, Dylan Cole, Tyler Cole and wife, Patsy, Jason Cole, Jared Cole and Erica Conner and husband, Cody; numerous great grandchildren; as well as one great, great granddaughter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Dan Duke officiating. She will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park following the service.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association in Doris’ name.
