

Doris Carrie Boston Yount, of the Bethlehem Community, passed away on April 30th, 2025. Doris was born January 17th, 1941 in McDowell County, North Carolina. She was retired from General Electric in Hickory, NC. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and her volunteer work at Frye Regional Medical Center. Doris was also a dedicated blood donor with the American Red Cross for many years.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Raymond Yount; her parents Jake Boston and Mary Jane Dockery; three sisters; Francis Heaton, Betty Stidham and Sandra Wilson; one grandson Michael Adam Wright, and two step-sons; Jeffery and Rilley Yount.
Doris is survived by four daughters; Pamela Haas, Johnnie Adams, and Linda George Suttles of Hickory, NC, Anne Garcia of Sandia,Texas, and step-daughter Darrelyn Cooper of Hickory, NC, and step-son Blake Yount of Hickory, NC. Brothers; Paul Wayne Kimbrell, Willie (Nancy ) Boston, and Gerald (Karen) Boston. Sisters; Diane Smith, Mary Ann Minton, Hazel (Tim) Duncan, and Letha (Danny) Dellinger of the Crouse, NC area. 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers; Richard Alan Stamey, Cameron Isaiah Hall, Carl James Rubel, Parker Pearson Rubel, Kinston Carl Rubel, Christian Jose Zapata, Orion McKenzie Haas, Dylan Carl Daniel.
Funeral Services will be held at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church, 629 8th Street NE on Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 am with Pastor Christy Lohr Sapp officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 3120 Falling Creek Road, Hickory, NC. There will be a celebration of life at Saint Andrews Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall following the burial at Woodlawn.
