Dorothy JoAnn Herman, 72 of Conover passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Carolina Caring in Newton. She was born on May 20, 1951 to the late Rush Hoyle Riley and Edith Mae Teague Riley in Catawba County. Along with her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Danny F. Herman; sons, Donnie Hefner and wife Tammy of Hickory, Darren Hefner and wife Tasha of Conover; grandsons, Corbin Hefner of Hickory, Trevor Hefner of Hickory; step sons, Danny Scott Herman and wife Mason of VA, Christopher Herman of Taylorsville; step grandchildren; Dylan Herman and Allie Herman; sister, Susie Dickinson; and brother, Cecil Riley and wife Diane of Brookford.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Ernie Richards will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
