Dorothy Faye Ward

Dorothy Faye Ward, 84 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at Trinity Ridge while surrounded by her family.

Born on December 10th, 1940, in Caldwell County, Dorothy was the daughter of the late George Franklin Elrod and Dorothy Mae Kirby. Dot was a devoted wife and a loving mother, known for her selflessness and kindness. She found joy in caring for others, especially through her love of cooking. Nothing made her happier than gathering family around the table, ensuring everyone was well-fed and loved. Her warmth, generosity and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Ward, siblings Carl Elrod, Reva Brooks, Ronnie Elrod, Billy Hamby, Eddie Hamby, Chris and Tony Hamby.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael Ward (Tammy), 2 daughters, Wendy Mikeal (Mitchell) and Kim Price (Greg); her grandchildren include, Alicia Procarione, Chase Hucks (Aley), Vincent Ward (Landreah), Lance Ward (Brooke), Landon Ward (Kayla), Logan Ward (Josh), Trey Ward, and Josh Price and her great grandchildren include, Thatcher, River, Talon, Ronin, Kaia, Wesley, and Elise, as well as her siblings, Linda, Van, Sheila and Cathy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 5:00 pm with Pastor Lynn Parsons officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Trinity Ridge in Mountain View, NC in Dorothy’s name.
