Born on December 21, 1931, in Burke County, he was the son of the late Fritz Hamilton and Flora Elizabeth Benfield Annas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Annas, and his son, Steven Lynn Annas.
Dyke proudly served in the United States Air Force, carrying out his duties with steadiness and dedication. He brought that same sense of purpose to the life he built after his military service. As a charter member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Dyke held his faith and community close to his heart. He loved the Lord deeply and enjoyed singing at local assisted living homes, sharing his love of music with others.
Dyke found joy on the golf course, where a lifetime of play brought him the remarkable achievement of eight holes-in-one—a testament to both his skill and his love for the game.
Dyke will be remembered for his openhanded generosity, kindhearted spirit, and well-timed sense of humor. His faith, warmth, and willingness to give to others touched the lives of many, and he will be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his son, Michael Annas, and wife, Karen, of Winston-Salem; his daughter-in-law, Mi Yong Annas, of Hawaii; his granddaughters, Nancy A. Redinger, of Bethany, OK, and Brittany Wilson and her husband, Jordan Wilson, of Wallburg; his grandson, Douglas Annas, of Morganton; his stepdaughter, Cathy McCaslin, and her husband, David, of Hickory; and his stepsons, James Ray Brewer and his wife, Kathy, of Hickory, and Dr. Harold Dean Reeves II and his wife, Kristina.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Eli Redinger and Ian Redinger; his step-grandchildren, Autumn Reeves, Peyton Brewer, Todd McCaslin, Kaitlin Brewer, and Leanne Engle and her husband, Ricky; and step-great-grandchildren Calen and Carter Engle.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Chris Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church.
