Effie "Susie" (Hudson) Greene

Susie was born in Cleveland County on December 23, 1937, and she was the daughter of the late Julius and Effie Bivens Hudson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Greene; her son Phillip Edwin Greene; her sisters Ossie Swaney, Goldie Ritchie, Leila Buff, Mary Johnson, and Ruby Moses, and a brother Jesse Hudson.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Taylor (Mark) of Hickory and Sharon Marreiros (Paulo) of Claremont; granddaughter Maria Marreiros of Claremont, and brothers Ivey Hudson (Peggy) of Hickory and Fred Hudson of Hickory and numerous nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement Susie was an associate at Hamrick’s of Hickory. Many will remember her as a dressing room attendant.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Reverend David Stikeleather of Christ United Baptist Church will be officiating.

Private family burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Casar, NC.
