Elmer Gray Anderson

Catawba – Elmer Gray Anderson, 80 of Catawba went home to be with the LORD on July 21, 2019 at his home.

Born on April 25, 1939 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Olin Jack and Linda Sechrest Anderson. Elmer loved to be with his family and to travel, especially to the mountains. One of his passions was racing, to watch and participate.

Preceded in death by his parents, as well as, 2 brothers, Robert Anderson and Jim Anderson; a sister Betty Speaks and a grandchild, Jeremy Brown.

Survivors include, his wife of 63 years, Levada Anderson of the home; 3 brothers, J.P Anderson and wife Ruby, Larry Anderson and wife Molly, Steve Anderson, a sister, Pauline Stone; 3 sons, Keith Anderson of W VA, Gary Anderson and wife Suzanne of Catawba, Ellis Anderson and wife Gloria of Catawba; a daughter, Sherry Strickland and husband Keith of Claremont; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Gant officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The Anderson Family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Catawba Funeral Home.
