Baby Emiliano Mateo Cruz of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on August 30th, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 30th, 2026, in Catawba County, NC, he was the son of Jonathan Cruz and Zaira Montes Ibarra.
Emiliano is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Maria Guadalupe Torres; his great grandfather, Sebastian Montes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Jonathan Cruz and Zaira Montes Ibarra; his grandmothers, Felicia Nava and Leticia Ibarra Orozco; his grandfathers, Juan Montes Chavez, Gerardo Cruz, and Josue Gutierrez, as well as numerous, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in St. Sebastian Chapel on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, at 12:00 pm with Father Alfonso Gamez officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Catawba Memorial Park, following the mass.
The family will receive friends prior to the mass from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Emiliano’s name.
