Mrs. Ernestine Rhodes Dale

ERNESTINE DALE HICKORY-Ernestine Rhodes Dale, 74, of Hickory passed on October 13, 2015 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born on August 30, 1941 in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late James Felton and Sudie Massengill Rhodes. Ernestine was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. She worked for North Carolina Industry for the Blind for ten years. Ernestine was a charter member of Catawba County Association of the Blind. She loved to play dominos and card games. Ernestine loved to bake goodies and collect teddy bears. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Ed Dale; brother, Mack Rhodes and wife Evelyn of Horse Heads, NY; brother-in-law, John Dale and wife Bette, sister-in-law, Virginia Howard and husband Jim, sister-in-law, Linda Tule and husband Lynn; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 2 PM at Highland United Methodist Church with Pastor Roy Miller officiating. Entombment will be private. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-2 PM at the church.
