Ethel Christine Watts
June 22, 1932 – April 20, 2021
Christine Parker Watts, 88, of Hickory, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her residence. Born in Catawba County on June 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Russell John Parker and Mae Crouch Parker.
Christine was a charter member of The Chapel Church in Hickory. She was a faithful servant, serving as youth director, Sunday school teacher, mission leader, Samaritan Purse Shoe Box Director, and Christmas play director. She retired from Catawba County School system. Christine was a dedicated loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill Watts; daughter, Diane Watts Hefner; son, Jeff Watts; brothers, James Russell Parker, Coy Lee Parker, Gene C. Parker; and sister, Pearl Parker Raines.
Christine is survived by her sons, Ronnie Watts and wife Susan of Bethlehem, Steve Watts and wife Donna of Claremont, Rev. Dr. Dale Watts and wife Linda of Hickory; and her daughter, Robin Watts of Hickory. Daughter-in-law, Angie Watts Ross of Hickory; grandchildren, Diane Bennett, Kevin Watts, Tiffany Watts, Jessica Watts, Chip Watts, Christy Creson, Ryan Watts, and Laura McLeymore; and numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Chapel Church in Hickory with the Rev. Dr. Dale Watts officiating. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. A private graveside will be held later.
Memorial donations may be given to The Chapel Church - Hickory Samaritan Purse Shoe Box Fund, 410 26th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601.

Dearest Watts Family,
I was saddened to hear of Christine's passing, but find comfort in her home-going. She was a sweet person and loved everyone. I know you will miss her. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. God Bless you and give you peace.
