Eva Kathryn Weaver

Born on November 22, 1924 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lorin A Eckard and Era Lucille Bollinger Eckard. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hickory, NC. Kathryn was a sales representative for Luzier’s cosmetics for 50 Years. She started her career at Valdese Weavers, proceeded to Northwestern Bank and then Southern Desk Company. Kathryn and L.N. started Kathryn’s Cheese House in 1963 and continued operation until 1994. During that time they had stores in Asheville, Blowing Rock, Lexington, and Belk in Valley Hills Mall.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lucius (L.N.) Weaver, and her sister Evelyn Deal.

She is survived by her sons, Lorin Weaver (Craig) and Nelson Weaver; grandchildren, Ryan Lovern, Alex Weaver, Lucy and Lola Weaver; great grandchildren, Griffin and Banks Lovern; brother, William Eckard; sister, Marilyn Punch (Herbert).

The family would like to express their thanks to Lisa Cleaver, Sheila Spry, Debbie Stroman, Cindy Reed, Cathy Townsend, Irene Punch and Paula Atwood for making Kathryn’s last years more special.

A Private burial will be held at Catawba Memorial Park.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 1-3pm at First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall in Hickory.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sipe’s Orchard Home at 4431 County Home Rd Conover, NC 28613.
