HICKORY— Evelyn Marie Swink, 77 of Hickory passed away at her residence on Monday, December 17, 2018. Born in Burke County, on August 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Clarence and Ollie Belle Marr Ross. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Swink; 8 brother and sisters. Evelyn was a member of Mariah Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Swofford and husband Donald of Hickory; sons Frankie Canipe and Jeff Canipe both of Hickory; granddaughters Heather Milsaps, Holly Canipe and Natasha Canipe all of Hickory; grandsons Billie Lambert and Chad Lambert; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters Mary Pigford of Hickory and Bessie Willis of Vale; brothers Dallas Ross and Chester Ross both of Hickory. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Ashe officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
