HICKORY— Faye Shrum Hines, 92, of Hickory passed away at Trinity Ridge of Hickory, on December 29, 2018 after a period of declining health. Born in Lincoln County on November 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Franklin and Annie Elizabeth Player Shrum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Kenneth “Bill” Hines; son-in-law Bobby Ledford and a brother Frank Shrum. She is survived by her daughter, Prisca Ledford of Startown; granddaughters, Casey Mueller and husband, Wayne of Maiden, and Jordan Ledford of Hickory; great granddaughter Averie Mueller of Maiden; great grandson, Liam Mueller of Maiden; sisters Dot Young of Newton, and Barbara Huffstetler and husband Whitey of Catawba and brothers Ray Shrum and wife Billie of Newton and Pete Shrum and wife Ruby of Newton, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton. Memorial gifts may be made to Humane Society of Catawba County, PO BOX 63, Hickory, NC 28603. Arrangements are with Hickory Funeral Home.

So sorry for the loss of your mom and grandmother. You all are in my thoughts and prayers Faye was a super sweet lady and I know you’ll miss her. Faye wonderful christain lady She loved the Lord with all her heart..she was such a good Deaconess and always helped me with food or communion what ever I needed help with..Bless her heart she was so coldnatured and had to wrap up all the time she even had a leapard hat she wore..l love that lady Always had a smile.. Faye lived her family always doing or going some place to be with them... She will be truly missed love her dearly.. Beth Settlemyre
