Mrs. Frances Modina Ellis

FRANCES ELLIS GRANITE FALLS – Frances D. Ellis, 80 of Granite Falls went home to be with her Lord on August 21, 2014 peacefully at her home. Born on May 12, 1934 in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Wilma Simmons Dula. Frances was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed puzzles and word searches. She enjoyed traveling with her family, especially going to the beach. She enjoyed working in the garden and cooking for her family before her health got bad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jack D. Ellis Sr., sisters, Bernola Elmore, Anita Tolbert, Shelba Richards. Survivors include her children, Jack D. Ellis Jr. and wife Jan of Longview, Veita Bauguss and husband Buck of Granite Falls, Deborah McGaha of Mountain View, Keith Ellis of Moutain View, Jonathan Glen Ellis of Hickory, Angela M. Murphy of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Jason D. Roseman and wife Lisa of FL, Brian Roseman of FL, Kevin Church and wife Annette of Utah, Heather Jo Church of Marion, Thomas Dean Church of Marion, William Murphy of Lenoir, Cathy Salinas and husband Able of Newton, Julie Sigmon of Hickory, Michael Sigmon of Hickory, Jonathan Ellis of Hickory, Misty Ellis of Viewmont, Jeffrey Ellis of Hickory; great-grandchildren, Kristian and Alyssa Roseman of Lenoir, Sarah and Noah Roseman of FL, Scarlett Jo Effler, Keally and Logan Church all of Marion, Payton Ellis of Hickory, Dwayne Cazaire of Newton, brothers, Joe Dula and wife JoAnn of Grace Chapel, Stewart Dula and wife Sue of Sawmills; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 3 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Joel Bixler officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the funeral home.
