HICKORY – Fred Paul Woody, 94 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2025.
Born on March 23, 1931 in Avery County, he was the son of the late Wyatt W. and Lucreta Wise Woody. Fred retired from Carolina Motor Freight after 40 years. He was a devoted family man who doted on his late wife Mae.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Woody; daughters, Tammy Blackman, Denise Westbrooke; son-in-law, Pat Blackman; siblings, Oakley, Roe, Arthur, Lynn, Ted, Beulah, Merle, Pearl, and Betty.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Joshua Blackman, Chase Westbrooke, Mackenzie Burket, Brooke Blackman; great-grandchildren, Christian, Natalie, Mason, Tanner; nephew, Kenneth Woody and wife Joyce; and his Number one buddy, Peanut and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 12 PM at Catawba Memorial Park. Burial will follow.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home.
