Freida Annette Huffman

Freida “Annette” Frye Huffman, 89 of Taylorsville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 3rd, 1937, in Catawba County, NC, Annette was the daughter of the late Paul Reid Frye and the late Beulah Butts Frye. She retired from Catawba Valley Medical Center where she worked as a Unit Secretary on Pediatrics. She was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church where she served as the choir director for many years. Annette helped bring the Lutheran Cursillo movement to North Carolina in the late 1970’s and was instrumental in growing the movement.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles Huffman, for whom she was a devoted caregiver for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four daughters, Connie Keller & husband Gerald, Cissy Huffman & husband Chris, Noelle Bernesser, Andrea Douglas & husband Donovan; five grandchildren, Chad Keller, Chastity Keller, Spencer Huffman, Holly Bernesser and Grace Douglas; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Kay Woods & husband Jim from Marietta, GA; numerous nieces and nephews. The family gives special thanks to Barbara Pennell for her compassionate care.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church in Bethlehem with Pastor Justin Mauney officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church (www.mtpisgahelca.org) in Annette’s name.
