George Baxter Pruette

HICKORY – George Baxter Pruette, 89 of Hickory went home to be with his Lord on June 3, 2023.

Born on October 13, 1933 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John George and Mary Carpenter Pruette. George was an active member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. He retired from Aiken Black after 30 plus years.

George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Pruette; children, George Milton Pruette (Pam), Patricia Keener (Sam), Norma Humphrey, Darlene Herman (Jimmy), Robert Pruette (Lynn); grandchildren, Keri Felix (Joe), Brooke Boltz, Justin Keener, Sarah Keener Horne (Austin); and great-grandson, Indy Boltz.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 2 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Edwards and Rev. Carrol Pruette officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 PM – 2 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hickory Falls Health & Rehab for their continued love and kindness to our father in his time of need.
