Gladys was born May 9, 1921 in Burke Co. to the late Robert Lee and Cora Lakey Roper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Harold White, a grandson, James O’Bryan Deaton and 10 brothers and sisters.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and owner of Coronet Beauty Salon.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Deaton of Hickory; granddaughter, Adele Deaton and husband, Kevin Trogdon, of Raleigh; great grandsons, Milo Trogdon, Lucas Trogdon and Sam Trogdon all of Raleigh.
Services will be Friday, December 14, at 3:00 P. M. at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Rev . Dixon Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
