Grace Agnes Lawrence Dupuis Hellmann, age 87 of Conover went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at her home. Grace was born on November 3, 1927 in Hillsborough, New Hampshire to George and Alice Chamberlin Lawrence and came to the Catawba county area in 1990. She married Aldie Dupuis on July 4th, 1946 and together they raised 4 children. After Aldie’s passing in 1996, Grace married Teddy Hellmann and they were together until his passing. Grace enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking when she wasn’t reading a good book. She is survived by her children, Anna Pelkey and husband Randy of Hickory and Nancy Altamirano and husband Ismael of Hickory; brother, Pete Lawrence and wife Nancy of Florida; grandchildren, Laurie LaBlanc, Keith Dupuis, Brian Dupuis, Corey Pelkey, Shannon Pelkey, Jessica Cheap, Chris Carreira and eighteen great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her children, Eddie Dupuis and David Dupuis. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Catawba Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
